Beatitudes, Revisited (survivor songs #20)

9

_______________

The poor in spirit receive the kingdom.

The receivers of the kingdom, mourn.

The mourners are comforted.

The comforted become meek (vulnerable, gentle).

The meek inherit the earth.

The inheritors of earth hunger and thirst for righteousness.

Those who hunger and thirst are satisfied.

The satisfied become merciful (seeking to satisfy the needs of others).

The merciful are shown more mercy.

Those shown mercy become pure in heart.

The pure in heart see God.

The see-ers of God become peacemakers.

The peacemakers are sons and daughters of God.

The sons and daughters of God are persecuted.

But…the persecuted receive the kingdom.

So rejoice and be glad!

Because –

Blessed Are You.
